As nanoparticles become more prevalent in both consumer products and biomedical applications, it is therefore necessary to understand how particles can affect cellular mechanics and migration. In this project we will study the effect of nanoparticle properties, specifically particle stiffness, on cellular mechanics and durotaxis, a form of cellular migration dictated by rigidity gradients on the substrate cells interact with.
