Copyright and licenses

Copyrights related to open-research repositories

By depositing your datasets, articles, and book chapters in a public repository, the content is shared with the public. However, you can restrict access and usage by choosing different types of licenses. The most frequently used are Creative Commons (CC) licenses, which are freely available for public use. The SNSF recommends the CC-BY license (eq. Attribution 4.0 International); the minimum requirement is a CC BY-NC-ND. The License Selector Tool can facilitate the selection of the most adequate license for your research content.
